Magnificent sacred art in honour of Our Lady

Completed in 1515, the Schöllenbach Altarpiece is considered one of the most beautiful of late Gothic ecclesiastical art in the Middle Rhine region. Schenk Eberhard XIII von Erbach and his wife donated the donated the altar to the former pilgrimage church of Schöllenbach in the Odenwald. The Count's collections by lantern light

When evening falls in Erbach, we take you on a very special journey and explore the mysterious side of Erbach Palace with you. As darkness falls, everything appears very different from the daytime; the shadows on the walls of the halls and salons merge with the works of art and the time-honoured furnishings. Some precious details, however, which otherwise remain hidden, flash in the ray of light and present themselves in all their beauty. The count's ancestors in their portraits seem to come back to life in the nocturnal atmosphere, and the past and present of the castle merge in a striking way.

Glamour in all corners

Cleaning Lady Hermione (costume tour)

What the Countess Cleaning Lady has to say

Hermine and Lisbeth have been cleaning the time-honoured rooms in Erbach Palace for many years, making sure that every corner shines. Together they have already experienced a lot and helped prepare many a party. Naturally, they both know a thing or two about the valuable collector's items belonging to Count Franz and his grandson Eberhard. It goes without saying that Hermine and Lisbeth know the historic rooms like the back of their hands. They are on a first-name basis with the antique busts, so to speak, and of course they are very familiar with the members of the count's family. Talkative and in dialect, in other words, just as their beaks grew, one of the two takes curious visitors on a tour of the castle rooms and whisks them away to the time around 1900.
