Renovation of the Palace Church

Bad Homburg Palace’s palace church is an excellent venue for concerts. It was built during the reconstruction of the palace complex in the years 1679-1686 by Landgrave Frederick II of Hesse-Homburg (1633-1708). Thanks to a comprehensive general renovation in 1989, the church is now a highly regarded venue for events. Nevertheless, concerts and the ravages of time have left their mark. In particular, the control of the heating system is getting on in years and needs technical modernisation. The interior with its wooden fixtures and panelling needs to be restored. There is also a need to maintain the historic Bürgy organ.

The palace church is a popular venue for events in Bad Homburg, as here at a lecture by actor Michael Quast on the occasion of the opening of the exhibition “244ff. from Frederick to Ferdinand” in the palace.
