Due to renovation work on Burgweg, access to the visitor car parks at Hattsteiner Hof must be via the streets "Eichergasse" and "In den Hirschgärten". The diversions is signposted. From Hattsteiner Hof, the footpath then leads up to the castle through the Altstätter Pforte. If you park in the old town area, you can reach the castle via the "Biergässchen" and the street "Unter der Burg".
