The former residence of the Counts and later Princes of Nassau-Weilburg, with its impressive palace gardens, towers imposingly high above the River Lahn. The pleasure garden laid out under Count Philipp III (1504–1559) was further developed by Count Johann Ernst (1664–1719) into a representative Baroque complex based on the French model.
