The English Wing houses the widow's apartment of the English princess and Landgravine Elizabeth of Hesse-Homburg (1770-1840) with elegant furnishings and classicist interior design from the first quarter of the 19th century.

The Bad Homburg Castle Park was strongly influenced by the Landgraviate of Hesse-Homburg and the last German emperors and is one of the most important historical landscape gardens in Hesse. Its history can be explored on a walk through the picturesque landscape. The special botanical features of the castle park are sure to delight garden lovers.

The royal wing of the palace, with its apartments belonging to the last German imperial couple, reflects the state of affairs around 1918. As an authentic testimony to imperial interior design, the historic rooms are unique in Germany.

A wide arc spans from the influential landgravines of the early days of the Landgraviate, to the visionary English landgravine Eliza, who had a lasting impact on the townscape and Homburg Castle with her creative ideas, to the German empresses, who continued and developed the legacy of these women.

On this tour, guests get to know Homburg Castle from different perspectives. They enter locked rooms and discover traces that would otherwise remain hidden. From old supply cellars and attics to the so-called ‘Kaisergang’ (Emperor's Walk) and the clock tower. Sturdy footwear is recommended for this journey of discovery through Homburg Castle from the Middle Ages to the Imperial era.

After a champagne reception, you will be given a guided tour of either the Royal Wing or the English Wing of the palace: while the widow's apartment of Landgravine Elizabeth in the English Wing takes you back to the Landgrave era, the Royal Wing contains the only authentic living quarters of the last German imperial couple that have been preserved in Germany. Following the tour, a dinner buffet including an extensive selection of beverages awaits you in one of our rooms.

Mysterious machinations and exciting puzzles await participants in the castle church. The story takes place during the reign of Friedrich VI, Landgrave of Hesse-Homburg. In 1818, he had just married the English princess Elizabeth in London and now wanted to bring her home. Suddenly, the harmony is disrupted: mysterious objects appear in the church, whose meaning must be deciphered. Whoever finds everything and puts it in the right context will end the haunting.
